Senator Tom Carper came to see our summer feeding program in action! He visited the cafeteria at Seaford High School to see the loading logistics and take a tour of the food truck. After that, he headed to Seaford Meadows and served chicken nuggets to lots of smiling faces! He complimented our students by saying they used great manners! If you have any changes to your address and/or phone number, please contact the main office of your child's school by August 4th. This will help us set up transportation and be in touch about back to school scheduling and events.

The SSD Board of Education approved the Board Meeting dates for the 2023-24 School Year at their July 10, 2023 Board reorganizational meeting. All meetings begin at 6:00 and are in the Seaford District Office Board Room unless otherwise noted.

The Seaford Board of Education approved the hiring of Mr. Austin Perry as the new Varsity Head Football Coach at Seaford High School. Coach Perry was part of the Seaford High School Football Staff for the past two years and previously served as an assistant football coach at Woodbridge. He played college football at Delaware State University. Coach Perry has taught ELA and Special Education at Seaford Middle School for the last two years and will be a Special Education Teacher at Seaford High School this upcoming school year.

The Seaford School District is proudly participating in the 2023 Summer Food Service Program from June 20, 2023 through August 4, 2023. Meals will be provided to all children 18 and under without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, at a first come, first serve basis. Children must be present to receive a lunch. Meals must be consumed on site.
During the summer, meals will also be provided at our summer school site, which is the Seaford High School. The building will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Children can pick up breakfast between 8:00 am – 9:00 am, and lunch between 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Children must be present to receive a breakfast and lunch. Meals must be consumed on site.

We have made a slight change to our 2023-24 School Calendar. The 2nd Marking Period will now end on January 22nd.

The Seaford School Board approved the proposed adjustments to our school times for the 2023-2024 school year. Please note these are not the start and end times of the school day. These times are when parents and busses will be dropping off and picking up students for the day. We will communicate start and end times as well as specifics for drop off and pick up procedures in the near future. These new times will allow us to lower the number of students on each bus, shorten some of our bus routes, and increase safety for all students.


To our families that have students at both Blades/Fred or West/Central:

Schools will make sure that you have adequate time to drop students off or pick them up and will have a long enough window for parents to get to both schools in the morning and afternoon. We will be communicating these specific logistics in the future.

The Seaford School District will be closed today, June 19th, as we commemorate Juneteenth.
